Three Initial Options
Our residential work is based on research, context, and testing ideas, with you at the center of the process.
We will start by asking questions to understand your specific needs and desires. We will learn about the site’s climate, ecosystem, and neighboring context. With that information we will develop three distinct design options meant to facilitate the start of a conversation.
We will intentionally make the options different to explore the possibilities of your project — where the entry path is located, how the home sits on the site, how spaces are arranged in relation to each other, the overall building form and materials. The options may all meet your requirements or be a study of tradeoffs to help you reach a target budget.
We are purposefully neutral on the options because we would be proud to build any one of them. The options are there to provide something for you, the client, to react to, helping us all learn and design together.
With your feedback in hand, we will build upon the preferred elements of each option to create a single design tied to your needs, preferences, and the character of your site.
